Heiko Paries

Born in Hamburg in 1971 his father took him already as a 3-year-old boy on a bicycle to the nearby Estering at Buxtehude to regularly watch Rallycross events and share his passion for motorsports over many a year with his son.

At the age of 16 Heiko started to do marketing as well as press work for several German Rallycross drivers and, as the peak of his hobby, as a 17-year-old rookie was able to fix a sponsoring contract between the 1988 German Rallycross Champion Sepp Gröbner and the by then in the sport of Rallycross very active German clutch and shocks manufacturer Fichtel & Sachs.

In 1994 Paries had enough of just watching his heroes doing Rallycross and started his own career as a racer by using a 1400cc Rover Metro GTi in national events as well as taking part in his first international Rallycross at Brands Hatch in England.

1997 became a milestone for the anglophile German as he claimed the British Rallycross Championship of the 1400cc category after races in England and Ireland. From now on Heiko and his British buddy Mike Dresser were often seen at Rallycross venues all over Europe, the team mates competing with two identical Rover Metros sponsored by the Valvoline oil company.

In 2001 Paries won the Danish championship (of the 1400cc class) and, thereby, was also the best two-wheel drive Rallycross competitor in Denmark.

From 2006 on Heiko drove a MG ZR 160 in Group N trim to take part in Rallycross events in Germany and several European countries to finish the 2007 season as highest placed German in the FIA European Rallycross Championship (ERC).

Since his new car, a unique MG TF 160, is nearing its completion Paries is keen to contest the entire 2011 German DRX series as well as having occasional Rallycross events in England, Belgium, Denmark and Austria on his busy racing schedule.

Paries, who is otherwise known as a singer , has a lot of experience to deal with media people, especially due to his many appearances on television (e.g. NDR, MDR and RTL), and can also be booked as presenter and/or artist for company events with or without his racing car.
